Frequently Asked Questions

TOCNET is an acronym that stands for Tactical Operations Center Inter-Communication System. The typical TOCNET node consists of a Hub device and various Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).

At a high level, TOCNET serves as a communications gateway to the end user. At a lower level, TOCNET enables users by providing access to various communication assets using various technologies and interfaces. Examples include Plain Old Telephone System (POTS), T1/E1, VoIP, IPv4 & IPv6, Call Processing, Conference Calls, Call Preemption, Radio Crossbanding, Radio Control, SIP & H.323 and QoS support.

In many cases, TOCNET can be utilized to provide unique standalone capabilities. Examples include Point-to-Point Calling, Radio Control, VoIP, Radio Crossbanding, Extended Voice Channel (EVC) for voice communications across low bandwidth links, and Software Based Mission Recording.

TOCNET can also be used to complement existing solutions. We understand that most solutions do not address all communication gaps. In those cases, TOCNET can be utilized to fill certain communication gaps.

Many of the TOCNET products do have NSN numbers assigned. Please contact TOCNET.Support@SCI.com for further information on this matter.

Each TOCNET LRU comes with a standard one-year warranty.

If your TOCNET LRU is out of warranty, a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) can be requested by sending an email to TOCNET.RMA@SCI.com with a subject line of “TOCNET RMA”.
