Max Klein

Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Klein is the Chief Technology Officer for SCI Technology, Inc. (SCI), a Sanmina company, in Huntsville, Alabama.

Dr. Klein is responsible for developing company-wide technology and product roadmaps, and also leads the Technology segment for rapidly maturing new technologies into commercial product offerings.

Prior to joining SCI, Dr. Klein worked in the Technology Development practice at Exponent in Phoenix, Arizona. He was responsible for the creation of RF and electromagnetic test and development capabilities.

Dr. Klein led a U.S. Army-funded research and development program resulting in a new ultra wideband electronically steerable ground-penetrating radar system for real-time IED detection. His work at Exponent also included sensor/countermeasure coexistence, communication systems for ISR assets and robotic systems, and soldier-worn and vehicle-based computing platforms.

Prior to Exponent, Dr. Klein worked at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and Booz Allen Hamilton. His work initially focused on radiation-hardened electronics, both by design and by process. He also developed novel remote sensing technologies and electronic countermeasures.

Dr. Klein’s graduate work focused on embedded systems for electromagnetic remote sensing in harsh environments. His systems studied the near-Earth space environment, and were deployed and operated on maritime platforms in the South Pacific Ocean and fixed locations across the Antarctic Plateau.

Dr. Klein received his Bachelor of Science in Computer and Systems Engineering and Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He earned his Master of Science and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, where he was a member of the Space, Telecommunications, and Radioscience Laboratory.

He is married and has two children.
